New York (known as “The Big Apple”, “NYC,” and often called “New York City”) is a global center for media, entertainment, art, fashion, research, finance, and trade. The bustling, cosmopolitan heart of the 4th largest metropolis in the world and by far the most populous city in the United States, New York has long been a key entry point and a defining city for the nation.
From the Statue of Liberty in the harbor to the riches of Wall Street, from the bright signs of Times Square to the naturalistic beauty of Central Park, and from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx to Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York’s landmarks are quintessential American landmarks.
New York generally experiences all four seasons, with hot and humid summers (Jun-Sept), mild to cool autumn (Sept-Nov), mild to very cold winters (Dec-Mar), and increasingly mild, wet springs (Mar-Jun)
There are 3 cruise terminals which serve New York but most larger ships depart from Cape Liberty which is actually in New Jersey around 7 miles from Manhattan.

Our top attractions in New York
Like most of the great world cities, New York has an abundance of great attractions—so many, that it would be impossible to list them all here – but here are some of our favourites.
Visit the Top of the Rock Observation Deck
Take a Statue of Liberty tour
Visit the 9/11 Memorial Musuem
Take a helicopter tour – avoid the traffic !
Please Note – when booking a private excursion that is not operated by the cruise line it is your responsibility to ensure that you are back in port in good time for the ‘All Aboard’ time. We suggest allowing at least 1 hour after your ships arrival in port to allow for immigration clearances and plan to be back in port at least 1 hour before ‘All Aboard’ time to allow for any traffic issues etc on your return journey.
Extended Stay Options in New York
Looking for a pre or post cruise hotel in New York?
We carefully select a small selection of hotels which are close to the cruise terminal but we recognise that some guests may prefer closer to the city so we offer both options to make it easy for guests to find the best hotel that fits the preferred location and budget.
Please note the Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal has no hotels that are really on the doorstep.
